Our Philosophy

About Us

Gateways Services for Families with Special Needs Society is a new non-profit organization in the South Cariboo run by a board of directors and parents that want to see change in services for special needs children in our area . We are creating more services for children with all types of special needs and funding levels. Gateways Services works with children 6 to 18 years old. Tailored to each family’s requests, we provide homeschooler EA support, BI intervention, life skills through individual and group programs and peer social groups. We also assist parents in system navigation including support for doctors and school appointments, completing paperwork, finding respite support and planning for the future.

afterschool social group

Friday After School Social Group Age 12-16

Friday social group is a group of neurodiverse kids that get together and chat, play games, go swimming, go to the movies and just hang out. The group age is 12 to 16 yrs of age. We Pick up from school and bring them back to GATEWAYS. On Pro D Day we run a 6 hour program that takes the kids to Williams Lake to swim and get Lunch.

Wednesday we run an afterschool social program for kids ages 7 to 11 yrs of age. This program is focused on learning peer to peer interaction, working together to solve problems and games. There will be opportunities to go swimming and to go to the movies with the older Friday group when appropriate.

Respite Program

Due to the lack of workers in our community and the restrictions due to covid we are looking to run a program in the office with workers that are willing to do respite hours. Email for more information.
